Nuns Arrested for Cultivating Marijuana in a Convent 

Two nuns were arrested by the Ugandan police for being suspected of cultivating marijuana within a convent. The suspects were Sister Pauline Nanteza and Sister Rita the occasion happened at Bwanda Convent in Kalungu sub county. When the duo was being questioned about presence of the marijuana crop in the convent by the police in front of media cameras, the duo claimed the marijuana that was inter planted with bananas is a source of food for the pigs that they kept within the convent. As if it was not drama enough, when the police started uprooting the crop the Nuns tried to block them saying that the pigs would go hungry if their source of food was destroyed. Sister Rita also threatened to beat up a WBS reporter for covering the story. Mr. Titus the area police chief told the media that they had received a tip from the public that there was some marijuana being grown in the convent and that’s why they stormed it.
