Huge swarm of bees leads to traffic in South Eastern area of London
On a Tuesday evening, out-of-nowhere, there was a giant swarm of bees everywhere, that literally stopped the vehicles on the road and the people started looking for places to hide. There were bees everywhere, however not a single person was stung. On the Greenwich Church Street, the air was filled with the buzzing sound of the bees and a nearby shop owner described the situation as “absolutely crazy”. Initially, a distant hum could be heard and then suddenly there were bees above cars, above people’s head and above the one – way system. The air was bee-swamped for almost up to an hour and finally the swarm subsided once a beekeeper used an equipment to catch the insects. The beekeeper had his wife along who explained to people that bees only sting when people squash them or swat them, otherwise the swarm of bees are usually benign.
