The Killing of Six Year Old Kingston Frazier
Kingston Frazier’s mother, Ebony Archie left Kingston in the back of her Toyota Camry while she went shopping at a Kroger grocery store in a Jackson, Mississippi last Thursday after midnight. Ebony Archie left her Toyota Camry running so Kingston Frazier could sleep while he waited for his mother to return from shopping. Shortly after Kingston Frazier’s mother left him, three teenagers, Dwan Wakefield age 17, DeAllen Washington age 17, and Byron McBride age 19, drove up to the car and a man entered the Camry drove off with the car with a sleeping Kingston Frazier in the back of the Toyota Camry
Once Kingston Frazier’s mother, Ebony Archie finished grocery shopping she proceeded to return to her car, but found her Toyota Camry had been stolen. At approximately 2:30 AM Ebonie Archie left the store to report to the police that her Toyota Camry had been stolen. Ebony Archie told a sheriff’s deputy, Sheriff Victor Mason that her car had been stolen, but did not mention that her child, Kingston was inside the car until later because she was in a frantic state. Once Ebony Archie informed the police Kingston Frazier was in sleeping in the back of her Toyota Camry Amber alert was issued at approximately 4:15 AM.
David Archie, Kingston’s uncle and other family members pleaded for the suspects to return Kingston safely. David Archie told reporter Clarion Ledgerx, “We’re just asking, regardless of who you are, what you are and where you are, if you could just return the child. Leave him somewhere, find a way to get him to a store, to a gas station, to a restaurant, Walmart, anywhere people are and just drop him off.” After five hours passed Mississippi authorities found the car abandoned on a dirt road in Glickstadt, Mississipi. Authorities reported they found Kingston Frazier in the back seat dead from a gunshot wound. Ebony Archie was shortly notified that her son was found in the car and he had been shot dead in the backseat of her car. Ebony in grief collapsed to the ground. Ebony told Clarion Ledger, “I told ya’ll that sh**t wasn’t right, I told ya’ll.”
Kingston’s father who had not heard the news about his son told the reporters, “Where’s my son man? I’ve been waiting nine hours to hear anything. I ain’t heard s**t about my son all day. Man I know he ain’t right. If something’s wrong let me know right here.” Hinds County Sheriff’s Department Major Pet Luke said during a press conference, “Our hearts go out to the families.” Once again Kingston’s father spoke to the news after he found out his son was dead. He said, “My son’s dead, man. They killed my son, man. They shot my son.”
The guilty suspects Dwan Wakefield, DeAllen Washington, and Byron McBride were arrested Thursday evening and will all be charged as adults with capital murder in the heinous death Kingston Frazier. All three could face death penalty if found guilty.
