Kendrick Lamar released his fourth hip hop album ‘DAMN’ on April 14, 2017. The 14-track album features popular artists, among them, Rihanna, U2, and Zacari Palcado. The lead single is the track ‘Humble’ which was released two weeks prior to the official album release.
“DAMN’ has received overwhelming acclaim from both fans and critics. The album received an outstanding rating of 98% on Metacritic after 5 reviews, and a 5 out of 5 stars rating by The Guardian. Fans were quick to respond to the album release on various social media platforms. On twitter, the album was trending under the hashtag #DAMN. The reception was generally positive with fans terming Kendrick Lamar the ‘new king of rap’. DNA and Loyalty are the tracks said to be receiving the most playbacks from fans. The album’s cover art had initially sparked some controversy but the cover creator was quick to defend and justify it. Various celebrities have also voiced their approval, among them, Diddy, Wale, and Rihanna.
